Axes of facial measurements and physiognomy. |

Frontal and lateral perspectives of a human face in a context of physiognomy
form axes of coordinates according to which personalities of people possess
potential and kinetic psychological parameters or traits. Potential
psychological traits correspond to facial sizes in full-face and form frontal
axis of measurements, and kinetic traits correspond to sizes of a face in
profile and form lateral axis of measurements of facial shapes.
Two axes are horizontal and correspond to facial sizes on horizontals, but also
in a context of physiognomy it is necessary to measure faces of people on
vertical datum line, that forms the third axis of facial coordinates as shown in
the table.

At the left eight Ba Gua of the canon i-jing and
physiognomic pictures correspond to frontal and lateral perspectives,
and also to horizontal axes of facial measurements in profile and
full-face, that is designated by letters. FG - frontal horizontal projections. LG - lateral horizontal projections. Above eight Ba Gua of the canon i-jing and different sizes of octagons correspond to vertical axis of facial measurements. Above the table instead of physiognomic pictures has octagons which can be perceived as frontal in full-face or as lateral in half-face measurements, as actually vertical axis of facial shapes is identical for frontal and lateral perspectives. By means of the shown table it is possible to analyze ratio of frontal or lateral horizontal sizes with vertical sizes of a human face. Ratio of facial shapes can be designated by combination of letters VFG (attitude of vertical and frontal horizontal axes) in the first case. And by combination of letters VLG (attitude of vertical and lateral horizontal axes) in the second case. |

In aggregate three axes of ordinates of a human face in the shown table can be
considered as a cube in which two sides correspond to frontal and lateral
horizontal sizes, and the third side corresponds to vertical sizes of facial
shapes. And combinations of trigrams Ba Gua of the canon i-jing symbolize
different combinations of formal types of human faces, and also symbolize
different conjunctions of psychological characteristics of human personality
inside of a cube.
Frontal horizontal measurements in full-face in combinations mean potential
psychological characteristics which predetermine tendencies and possible
potencies of personality.
Lateral horizontal measurements in half-face in combinations mean kinetic
psychological characteristics according to which potential tendencies of
personality can be realized.
Vertical measurements of a face in combinations mean the realized psychological
characteristics which do not demand kinetic realization.
Example 1.
The human face corresponds to combination of 5th Ba Gua on horizontal in
full-face and 1st Ba Gua on horizontal in profile. And also facial features of
the person correspond to 2nd Ba Gua according to vertical axis of measurements,
that in aggregate possible to designate F5

by means of letters with numbers and symbols i-jing.
In this case combinations of psychological characteristics of human personality
are the following.
In sphere of consciousness. Potential characteristics of thinking can be
realized as a result of realization of kinetic processes of mind, as frontal and
lateral measurements of the face are expressed, that corresponds to entire lines
on top positions in 5th and 1st trigrams of the canon i-jing. But vertical
measurement in sphere of consciousness are not expressed, that corresponds to
break line on top position in 2nd trigram, and consequently functions of mind
are non-realized and as a result realization of thinking is an absolute must for
the person.
In sphere of individuality. Personal potentialities of the person can be
realized by kinetic personification, as corresponding measurements of a face are
expressed, that corresponds to entire lines on middle positions in 5th and 1st
trigrams. And also vertical measurements in this facial sphere are expressed,
that corresponds to the entire line on middle position in 2nd trigram, and
consequently personification of individuality is not necessary, namely the
person perceives personal potentialities as the realized and not demanding
realization.
In sphere of feelings. Absence of sensual potencies does not allow to
carry out kinetic sensual aspirations of the person as frontal measurement in
this sphere of the face is not expressed, and lateral measurement is expressed,
that corresponds to the entire line on bottom position in 5th trigram and to the
break line on bottom position in 1st trigram i-jing. But the vertical size is
expressed, that corresponds to the entire line on bottom position in 2nd
trigram, and consequently the person feels own sensual potencies as realized,
and as a result impracticable aspirations of sensuality are not perceived as
unsatisfactory.
Example 2.
In facial features there are conformity with 3rd trigram in full-face and 6th
trigram in profile according to horizontal measurements, and also the face
corresponds to 4th Ba Gua according to vertical axis of measurements, that is
possible to designate as F3

In this case psychological characteristics of human personality form following
combinations.
In sphere of consciousness. Potentiality of thinking cannot be realized
as a result of kinetic mental processes, as facial features in this physiognomic
sphere are expressed in full-face according to the entire line on top position
in 3rd trigram, and are not expressed in profile according to the break line on
top position in 6th trigram of i-jing. And also the vertical size of this sphere
of the face is not expressed according to the break line on top position in 4th
Ba Gua of i-jing, and as a result the person perceives impossibility of
realization of own ideas and non-realized potential of thinking.
In sphere of individuality. Personal potentialities are insufficient for
kinetic realization of personification or otherwise to tell for
individualization, as facial shapes are not expressed in full-face according to
the break line on middle position in 3rd Ba Gua, and are expressed in profile
according to the entire line on middle position in 6th Ba Gua of the canon
i-jing. But the vertical size is not expressed according to the break line on
middle position in 4th trigram, and consequently the person does not perceive
lack of personal potentialities and impossibility of individualization as
essential defect.
In sphere of feelings. Potential sensuality cannot be realized as a
result of kinetic displays of feelings, as sizes of the face in this
physiognomic sphere are expressed in full-face according to the entire line on
bottom position in 3rd Ba Gua, and are not expressed in profile according to the
break line on bottom position in 6th Ba Gua. But the vertical size is expressed
according to the entire line on bottom position in 4th trigram, and consequently
realization of sensual potencies are not essential necessity for the person.
Example 3.
Physiognomy of the face corresponds with 8th trigram of the canon i-jing in
full-face and 6th trigram in profile according to horizontal sizes, and also
facial shapes of the person correspond to 4th Ba Gua according to vertical axis
of measurements, that is possible to designate as F8

The human person has following combinations of psychological characteristics in
this case.
In sphere of consciousness. The combination is similar to sphere of
feelings in the previous second example.
In sphere of individuality. The individual potential is insufficient and
cannot be realized as a result of kinetic personification or otherwise tell
self-identifications, as lines on middle positions in 8th and 7th trigrams of
the canon i-jing are broken, that corresponds to the not expressed psychological
characteristics. But the line on middle position in 6th trigram is entire and
corresponds to the expressed characteristics of personality, and consequently
lack of individual potential and absence of self-identification are not
essential, namely this man or this woman perceives itself as the personified
person without self-identification.
In sphere of feelings. Insufficient potencies of sensuality do not
contradict absence of kinetic realization of sensual displays, as lines on
bottom positions in 8th and 7th trigrams are broken, that corresponds to the not
expressed psychological traits of personality. But also the line on bottom
position in 6th Ba Gua is break and corresponds to not expressed psychological
traits, and consequently the person does not notice absence of high-grade
displays in sensual sphere.
In a similar way it is necessary to correlate sizes of human faces in full-face
to sizes in profile, and also to psychological meanings which correspond to
facial features according to vertical axis of measurements, if complete
knowledge about kinetic and potential coordinates of human personality in view
of physiognomy is necessary to have.
